Project-based vs hourly
Like every business, I want to get paid for my time and effort! Essentially, there are two ways to determine what my work will cost. One is based on a per hour basis, and the other is on a per project basis. Both have their pros and cons, but my preferred method is to get paid per project. That way, you’re working with a fixed price and can budget accordingly. Note, there may be some exceptions where an hourly fee is more applicable (for example, if you need any changes or additional work outside the scope of the original project after the final version has been delivered).
What’s required?
To get started, I require a deposit of 50% of the fee agreed for your project. I will provide you with a contract outlining my fees, the date of submission and the terms of our relationship. As soon as I receive your deposit and your countersigned contract, I will start working on your project.
What’s included in the fee?
- Consultation time to become familiar with you, your business, your products and services, your target audience, and your expectations
- Research time to gather and examine additional materials (existing brochures, websites, etc.)
- Writing your copy from first draft to final version
Acceptable methods of payment
I currently accept electronic funds transfer (EFT), cheque or PayPal.
